The President of Uzbekistan holds a meeting with the President of Finland

    As part of the COP29 Summit in Baku, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with President of Finland Alexander Stubb.

    The issues of developing multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Finland were discussed. Active political and inter-parliamentary contacts were noted with satisfaction.

    To form a new economic agenda, it was proposed to prepare a program for developing industrial cooperation in metallurgy, electrical engineering, chemistry, telecommunications and others.

    In this context, the importance of careful preparation for the Intergovernmental Commission’s next meeting and the business forum in January 2025 in Helsinki was emphasized.

    Particular attention was paid to strengthening exchanges in education and ecology, including Finland’s active participation in the activities of the UN Multi-Partner Human Security Trust Fund for the Aral Sea Region.

    The schedule of the upcoming high-level meetings was reviewed.
