Current issues related to further developing multifaceted Uzbekistan – European relations were discussed.
At the beginning of the conversation, the EU representative conveyed warm greetings and best wishes to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on behalf of the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and the President of the European Council, António Costa.
The dynamic growth of bilateral cooperation achieved in recent years, particularly in political, trade-economic, investment, cultural, and humanitarian spheres, was expressed with deep satisfaction.
The significant potential and opportunities available for steadily expanding bilateral relations was emphasized.
The forthcoming signing of the new Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement between Uzbekistan and the EU will also facilitate this process.
Mutual interest was expressed in advancing joint projects and programs in transportation and logistics, energy, digitalization, agriculture, water management, and other priority areas.
Special attention was given to establishing mutually beneficial practical cooperation in processing critical mineral resources.
The parties also discussed aspects related to the organization of the first “Central Asia – EU” Summit and Climate Forum in Samarkand in early April this year.
Views were exchanged on issues of regional interaction in Central Asia.
