The initiative is being implemented in collaboration with UN entities and under the leadership of the Republican Commission.

The global campaign "16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence," which is held annually worldwide from November 25 to December 10, is focused this year on combating threats in the digital space.

Opening the event, Senate Chairperson Tanzila Narbaeva emphasized that protecting women and girls from digital violence is a continuous process:

"No stereotype can justify violence," she said.

The event was attended by representatives of ministries and agencies, law enforcement bodies, civil society, international experts and UN agencies.

UN Resident Coordinator in Uzbekistan Sabine Machl noted that criminalizing domestic violence and strengthening protection services create an important foundation for combating digital violence. Head of the UN Women Central Asia Office Ceren Guven Gures stressed that a large portion of online violence cases remain hidden and expressed the necessity for globally coordinated measures.

Within the framework of the campaign, various events, dialogue platforms, training seminars, and information campaigns will be organized across all regions of the country from November 25 to December 10.
