Pashinyan stated Armenia's readiness to sign an agreement with Azerbaijan

    Armenia is ready to sign a peace treaty with Azerbaijan this month, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said on Tuesday during the CIS summit in Moscow.

    According to him, at this stage it is necessary to make a decision on the range of fundamental issues that can become a strong foundation for peace between the two countries. He noted that we are talking about mutual recognition of each other's territorial integrity, confirmation of the absence of territorial claims against each other and the obligation not to make such claims in the future, respect for the principle of non-use of force and threat of force, non-interference in each other's internal affairs, the establishment of diplomatic relations and the creation of bilateral mechanisms to fulfill the obligations assumed by the parties peacefully the contract.

    "The formulations of all these issues have already been agreed by the parties in the draft treaty on the establishment of peace and interstate relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan, and we are ready to sign this document this month, and this is our official position," Pashinyan said.

    He added that both Armenia and Azerbaijan have stated in recent months that the draft treaty on the establishment of peace and interstate relations has been agreed upon by at least 80%, and recently the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan agreed to intensify work on finalizing the draft peace treaty, reports ria.ru.
