The meeting took place within the framework of a joint program between UNESCO and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) aimed at empowering Uzbek citizens through access to information, increased accountability of institutions, and media development.
During the dialogue, the possibility of organizing a multilateral advisory council to study the development of the Internet in Uzbekistan based on the UNESCO Internet Universality Indicators rating was discussed.
The sides also exchanged views on the development of digital infrastructure, expanding Internet access and ensuring online security.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on strengthening cooperation in the field of digital development of Uzbekistan, as well as protecting the rights of Internet users and introducing digital innovations.
