"Egypt is preparing for a violent dust storm "Hamasin" (translated from Arabic as "fifty") in the last days of April. The General Directorate of Meteorology predicts severe weather conditions from Tuesday, April 29, to Sunday, May 4," the publication says.

It is specified that in the coming days the country may face strong winds, dust and thunderstorms. The cataclysm will affect the north-western regions of the country on the largest scale.

Local authorities have urged residents not to go outside unless necessary. The sky has acquired a rich orange hue, which indicates a large amount of dust and sand in the air.

The Hamasin dust storm got its name due to the 50-day period during which nature rages in this region every spring.
