The Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Russian Federation once again warns compatriots against participating in hostilities on the territory of foreign states, for which criminal liability has been established.

The Embassy draws attention to the fact that in accordance with the Law on Citizenship of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a person who is a citizen of the Republic of Uzbekistan is not recognized as belonging to the citizenship of a foreign state. Citizenship of the Republic of Uzbekistan is lost from the date of publication of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

In this regard, the diplomatic mission recalls that according to Article 154 "mercenary activity" of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, unlawful participation in armed conflicts or military actions on the territory of a foreign state is a crime. For the commission of this act, responsibility is provided in the form of imprisonment for up to ten years.

The Embassy warns citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan that all persons, without exception, against whom there is objective information about the illegal act committed under the above article of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, will be brought to criminal responsibility.

The Embassy urges our compatriots not to succumb to provocations and to show foresight.
