Special screens with information for drivers will be installed on the streets of Tashkent

During the beautification works carried out at the beginning of December in Yakkasaray district, the city administration, at the suggestion of the Department of Digital Development, installed a variable information board at the intersection of Bobur and Shota Rustaveli streets. They are usually placed at the top of the road to inform citizens about the traffic situation, speed limits, etc.

The city administration started using the scoreboard in the spring of 2019. At that time, the screens gave warnings about following the rules of the road, reminders were added during the 2020 quarantine. There were a total of eight screens in the city. Due to improper use, after some time, the scoreboards stopped working and hung over the roads like black rectangles.

In the fall of 2023, the Department of Digital Development launched an initiative to restore the information boards.

It is planned to display 14 types of information in the updated tables. For example, the contacts of the dispatching services that should be contacted in case of any utility problems or road obstructions; city air quality statistics, weather reports, emergency stop reminders, and more. When the repair work is completed, all eight signs will return to their place: two screens - at the intersection near the "Minor" metro station, two - at the intersection of Mustaqillik street and Akkurgan street, one - at the intersection of Shahrisabz street and Amir Temur street, and two at the Tashkent airport.
