The issues of expanding ties between Uzbekistan and the ILO, including bringing cooperation to a new level in the field of creating decent working conditions in the country on a systematic basis, were considered.
During the conversation, attention was focused on such areas of cooperation as the introduction of the principles of decent work and social protection, the fight against informal employment, providing basic income to the population in need of social protection, and the introduction of self-employment standards.
It was reported that in order to expand the ILO's participation in our country, in Central Asia as a whole, and to ensure the consistency of constructive dialogue, an international ILO coordinator position was established in Tashkent. It was noted that this, in turn, will allow the introduction of Uzbekistan's best practices in the field of labor relations in the region.
There was also an exchange of views on the establishment of a sub-regional ILO representative office for all Central Asian countries in Tashkent in the future.
At the end of the meeting, an agreement was reached to intensify joint cooperation projects with the involvement of highly qualified ILO specialists.
