During the conversation, the current state and prospects of cooperation between the Parliament of Uzbekistan and the Inter-Parliamentary Union, plans for the future and issues of further strengthening inter-parliamentary ties were discussed. There was also an exchange of views on the implementation of the Tashkent Declaration and the tasks arising from it.

During the meeting, a model agreement was signed on holding the 12th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians in September 2026 in the city of Samarkand.

This initiative was put forward by the President of Uzbekistan and is aimed at expanding global dialogue and cooperation between young parliamentarians.

Martin Chongong noted that this agreement is a logical continuation of the trustful and fruitful cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
