During the conversation, all spheres of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Bangladesh were considered, in particular, issues of strengthening trade, economic, political, cultural and humanitarian, especially inter-parliamentary ties.
The cooperation of the parliaments of the two states is an important component of the relations between our countries. The parties focused on the issues of further development of cooperation between the legislative bodies of Uzbekistan and Bangladesh, the effective use of parliamentary control in the implementation of the agreements reached.
It was noted that in recent years, special attention has been paid to trade and economic cooperation between our countries. Thanks to this, the volume of mutual trade turnover in the first half of 2023 doubled compared to the corresponding period last year. Nevertheless, it was stated at the meeting that there are enough opportunities for further improvement of the achieved indicators.
In turn, a proposal was put forward to develop a plan of practical measures, including the implementation of measures to strengthen cooperation between the chambers of commerce and industry of the two states, the establishment of industrial cooperation and the organization of exhibitions and fairs of industrial products.
There was also an exchange of views on the launch of textile clusters and production projects in the free economic zones of Uzbekistan, the implementation of joint projects based on the great potential of our country in the field of pharmaceuticals.
During the dialogue, proposals were discussed to expand cultural and humanitarian ties, especially in the field of culture and pilgrimage tourism.
At the end of the meeting, the diplomat noted that he would make every effort to further develop relations between our countries.
