The main purpose of the training center is to improve the skills of insurance market participants, as well as training professionals on the principle of "Coach for Trainers", which will contribute to further improvement of human potential and holistic development of the insurance market of Uzbekistan. The training center will function in the building of the Tashkent Financial Institute.
The official opening ceremony of the training center was held on November 14, 2023 with the participation of the Deputy Permanent Representative of the UNDP in Uzbekistan, Mr. Anas Fayad Karman, Rector of the Tashkent Financial Institute, Mr. Teshabayev Tolkin Zakirovich and Chairman of the Association of Insurance Market Participants of Uzbekistan, Mr. Khalilov Oybek Nasirovich. Also, the ceremony was attended by representatives of insurance companies of the Republic of Uzbekistan, higher educational institutions of Uzbekistan and the media.
In addition, as part of the opening ceremony, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the UNDP, the Tashkent Financial Institute and the Association of Insurance Market Participants of Uzbekistan on the further development of the training center and strengthening the knowledge of insurance market participants. The first trainings are scheduled for November 17 and 18 this year for representatives of insurance companies.
At the end, the presentation of the training center's work, its main goals and objectives, and further development strategy was held at the ceremony. It is worth noting that the participants of the event mentioned that the lack of qualified personnel is one of the main difficulties in the development of the industry and noted the relevance of this initiative, the importance and prospects for further development of the training center.
The opening of the training center was supported within the framework of the UNDP global project "Introduction of the mechanism of insurance and risk financing in Uzbekistan" funded by the German government, whose main task is to support the participating countries of the project in the development of the insurance market of Uzbekistan, including: Integration of insurance policy into the country's economic development program, development of inclusive insurance, financing of sovereign risks, risks from natural disasters, introduction of additional investments in the insurance industry, etc.
