In the process of preparing for the summit, representatives of a number of ministries and departments held working meetings with relevant structures of the Italian side on their areas of activity.
One of these meetings was held between the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ibrohim Abdurakhmonov and Vice-president of the prestigious Italian organization Confagricoltura Lika Brondello, Vice-rector of the University of Carcass, Professor Alvaro Marucchi and Director of the National Research Council of Italy (CNR) Aldo Seriotti.
During the dialogue, which took place in a warm and constructive atmosphere, issues of developing education and scientific activities in the agricultural sector, organizing student exchange programs, providing internships for Uzbek agronomists in scientific centers in Italy, as well as strengthening cooperation within the framework of joint environmental and agro technical projects implemented in the Aral Sea region were discussed.
Following the meeting, specific plans were identified to promote joint initiatives aimed at further strengthening bilateral cooperation and increasing research and innovation potential in the agricultural sector.
These negotiations are a practical expression of the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Italy in the field of agriculture and are important in terms of supporting initiatives that promote sustainable development.
