Schoolchildren from Uzbekistan won seven awards at the International Mendeleev Olympiad in Kazakhstan

    Schoolchildren from Uzbekistan returned with 7 awards of various merits, which they won at the 57th International Mendeleev Olympiad in Chemistry in Kazakhstan and took second place in the overall standings among more than 20 countries.

    The 57th International Mendeleev Olympiad of Schoolchildren in Chemistry, which was held by the Ministry of Education of Kazakhstan, the Faculty of Chemistry of Lomonosov Moscow State University and the Andrey Melnichenko Charitable Foundation, has ended in Kazakhstan.

    The scientific event was attended by schoolchildren-winners of national chemistry Olympiads from 21 countries of the world. All of them passed three competitive stages, which tested the knowledge of young chemists not only in theory, but also in laboratory complexes, the press service of the Ministry of Preschool and School Education reports.

    Among the gold medalists are representatives of four countries. The Russian national team won the most - 7 gold medals. The national team of Uzbekistan has two gold medals (Uzbekistan was presented on the podium by Azizbek Nazarov and Abdullo Mahmudov), one each by representatives of Hungary and Belarus. In total, participants from 19 countries were awarded medals.

    Recall that Uzbekistan hosted the 56th International Mendeleev Olympiad in 2022. Then almost a hundred talented boys and girls from 16 countries demonstrated their abilities. According to the results of the competitions last year, the national team of our country won 10 medals.
