The Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan held talks with the adviser of the Center of Conflictology of the European Institute of Peace

On July 18, 2023, the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan, Ismatullah Irgashev, met with Patrick de Vries, adviser to the Center for Conflictology of the European Institute of Peace, in a videoconference format.

During the conversation, the sides discussed the current situation in Afghanistan, the efforts of the countries of the world to restore the economic recovery of this country, to provide humanitarian and other assistance to the Afghan people.

The European side highly appreciated Uzbekistan's pragmatic steps to develop a consolidated regional position regarding both the new Afghan authorities and the solution of pressing problems in the socio-economic revival of the country.

Patrick de Vries emphasized the need for coordinated actions of European countries with Uzbekistan in the Afghan direction, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan reports.
