The United States conducted tests of the Minuteman III intercontinental missile

The US military conducted a training launch of the Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile from Vandenberg Base in California.

As follows from the statement of the base, the launch took place at 23.01 on November 5.

According to a statement from the US military, the test launch confirms the "readiness, reliability and effectiveness" of the US nuclear deterrent forces "in conditions of strategic competition."

The Minuteman III has been in service with the US Air Force since 1970 and is the only American mine-based ICBM as of 2023. The total number of missiles as of 2022 is estimated at about 400.

Not all Minuteman III trials end well. So, a year ago, the US military blew up a rocket during a flight over the Pacific Ocean due to problems that occurred during a test launch, reports rg.ru.
