Tashkent region is a reliable platform for Russian-Uzbek cooperation

    The visit of the Tashkent region delegation headed by khokim Zoyir Mirzayev to the Russian Federation continues. Yesterday, the Uzbek delegation took part in the second meeting of the Council of Regions of Russia and Uzbekistan, which was held in the Moscow region.

    This prestigious event serves as an important platform for discussing prospects for interregional cooperation and strengthening economic ties between the two countries.

    The Council's program included practical meetings, panel discussions and negotiations aimed at expanding bilateral cooperation in key areas such as industry, agriculture, energy, transport, logistics, culture and education.

    Speaking at the plenary session, khokim of Tashkent region Zoyir Mirzayev noted that over the past year after the first forum, the number of joint Uzbek-Russian enterprises in the region increased from 300 to 500, and the total investment exceeded 1 billion US dollars.

    To date, more than 40 major projects worth about $ 600 million have been implemented with the participation of Russian partners, which have created over 3,000 new jobs.

    The head of the region also presented new areas of cooperation and the first results in a number of areas. In particular, he spoke about the second stage of the project for the production of finished textiles in the city of Angren, which has an export potential of 3 million dollars and provided employment for more than 600 people.

    Together with the Republic of Tatarstan, the development of the Chirchik Chemical and Industrial Technopark continues, where 15 enterprises are currently operating, and 10 more projects with a total cost of $ 250 million are at the launch stage.

    In addition, a project has been launched to create a joint industrial zone with the Republic of Bashkortostan. An active partnership has been established with St. Petersburg enterprises in the field of construction and production of insulation materials.

    Special attention within the framework of cooperation is paid to promising areas - electrical engineering, pharmaceuticals, logistics and "green" energy. Together with the Moscow, Leningrad and Belgorod regions, projects are planned for the production of transformers, charging stations for electric vehicles, medicines and modern building materials totaling over $ 120 million.

    In cooperation with the Irkutsk company Ambax, projects are being implemented to build an agricultural and logistics center, as well as a factory for the production of jewelry and specialized furniture worth $ 25 million.

    It is also planned to introduce a number of joint initiatives in the agricultural sector. As a result of the meetings held in preparation for the II Forum of Regions, export contracts worth almost $ 200 million were signed.

    In addition, Uzbek entrepreneurs are creating wholesale trade and procurement centers in Kazan, Ufa and the Moscow region with a total cost of $ 70 million.

    In general, it is planned to increase the volume of joint projects between the Tashkent region and the Russian regions to $ 2 billion.

    In his speech, khokim of Tashkent region Zoyir Mirzayev stressed that the region is ready to become a reliable platform for the development of Russian-Uzbek cooperation and the implementation of mutually beneficial initiatives in various fields.

    Important agreements and arrangements were also signed during the forum between the khokimiyat of the Tashkent region and the governments of the Arkhangelsk, Omsk regions, as well as the Republic of Bashkortostan, aimed at further strengthening economic and investment partnership.
