The summit will be attended by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, as well as Kaha Imnadze, Head of the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia.

The event’s agenda includes strengthening regional cooperation in Central Asia and implementing joint projects and initiatives in priority areas. An exchange of views on current issues of regional and international politics will also take place.

Following the Consultative Meeting, the adoption of a substantial package of multilateral documents is expected.

The initiative to hold regular consultative meetings among the region’s heads of state was proposed by the Leader of Uzbekistan at the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly in September 2017.

During Uzbekistan’s current chairmanship in this format, more than 20 major events covering various areas of cooperation have been held.
