Uganda has appointed its first ambassador to Uzbekistan

    On October 15, Uzbek Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov received the first Ambassador of Uganda, Moses Kawaaluuko Kizige.

    "The first Ugandan Ambassador to Uzbekistan, H.E. Moses Kawaaluuko Kizige, has arrived in Tashkent," the Uzbek Foreign Minister wrote on his telegram channel. - We welcome Uganda's successful chairmanship of the Non-Aligned Movement and appreciate the support of our upcoming chairmanship of the Movement in 2027-2029. The establishment of political consultations between the foreign ministries will lay a solid foundation for promising cooperation for the benefit of the peoples of the countries. Our agenda also covered strengthening ties between business communities, cooperation within international organizations, and realizing untapped potential."

    Uganda has become the 145th country with which Uzbekistan has established diplomatic relations. The corresponding joint communique was signed on January 18, 2024 in Kampala, the capital of Uganda, during the participation of the delegation of Uzbekistan in the ministerial meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement.
