Uzbekistan - Qatar: mutually beneficial cooperation in higher education, science and innovation is at a new stage

    During the visit of the delegation headed by Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Sarvarkhan Buzrukhanov to Qatar, meetings were organized on the development of academic and scientific ties, prospects for establishing cooperation in the fields of artificial intelligence, biotechnology, green energy and environmental sustainability, strengthening interuniversity academic ties, a number of documents were signed.

    As part of the efforts to develop academic and scientific ties between Uzbekistan and Qatar, constructive talks were held with the President of Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), Dr. Ahmed Hasna. Special attention was paid to promising areas of cooperation, including artificial intelligence, biotechnology, green energy and environmental sustainability.

    During the negotiations, the exchange of masters, the internship of professors and doctoral students, as well as the signing of a bilateral memorandum providing for the joint implementation of scientific projects were discussed.

    An agreement was reached on the participation of the President of KHBKU in the event "InnoWeek-2023", which will be held in Tashkent on October 17-20 this year. It was noted that the "Innovation Week" will become a platform for the exchange of experience, knowledge and innovative ideas between scientists, researchers and students of the two countries.

    Also, within the framework of strategic cooperation between the two countries, a memorandum on mutually beneficial cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Qatar Council for Research, Development and Innovation (QRDI).

    This document is an important step in the development of relations in the scientific and innovative sphere. The signing of the memorandum took place with the active participation of high-ranking officials of the two countries: the signatures were signed by QRDI Secretary General Umar Ali Al-Ansari from Qatar, Deputy Minister of Uzbekistan S. Buzrukhanov.

    After the signing ceremony of the memorandum, the parties agreed to hold the "I Forum of University Rectors" in Uzbekistan, which is expected to become an important event in the academic life of the two countries, in order to start practical actions. The delegation headed by Umar Ali Al-Ansari is also scheduled to visit the exhibition "InnoWeek-2023", which will be held in Tashkent on October 17-20. These initiatives create a unique platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience in the implementation of scientific and educational projects.

    Strengthening academic ties: Qatar and Uzbekistan establish mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of education

    In order to develop international academic cooperation, Deputy Minister S. Buzrukhanov held a meeting with Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of Qatar University Ibrahim Al-Kabi and Head of the Department of International Cooperation Cesar Vazin.

    During the talks, Ibrahim Al-Kabi noted that Qatar is interested in cooperation with educational institutions of Uzbekistan. He also announced plans to establish cooperation with a number of educational institutions of Uzbekistan: Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies, the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan and the University of World Economy and Diplomacy.

    - The goal is to organize short-term refresher courses for Uzbek teachers and students. The main purpose of these courses is to teach Arabic and conduct scientific research in the field of Islamic studies," Ibrahim Al-Kabi said.

    Assessing the importance and prospects of the proposed cooperation, Deputy Minister S. Buzrukhanov suggested speeding up the process of reviewing relevant documents and signing memoranda in Tashkent this year.

    The sides noted that the signing of the memoranda will not only strengthen official relations between the universities of the two countries, but also create a favorable ground for long-term cooperation in the academic and scientific fields.

    At the end of the meeting, they expressed confidence that this constructive dialogue will undoubtedly open a new page in academic and cultural relations between Uzbekistan and Qatar.

    Strategic cooperation: Uzbekistan and Qatar prepare the ground for a private education project

    The visit to Awfaz Global private school in Qatar took place within the framework of deepening cooperation in the field of education between Uzbekistan and Qatar. During the visit, negotiations were held with the leadership of the private education cluster and the head of the Qatari organization "Academy of Lords" Francis Hoise.

    As the main outcome of the meeting, an agreement was reached on cooperation on the creation of a private professional educational institution in Uzbekistan. The project is planned to be implemented in the direction of B.TECH (Bachelor of Technology).

    It is also planned to develop a feasibility study, which will be the starting point for further implementation of the project.

    The creation of a new educational institution will not only strengthen academic ties between the two countries, but also enrich the education sector of Uzbekistan, introduce new standards and approaches in the field of technology. This, in turn, serves to further develop the innovation environment and train highly qualified specialists.
