Within the framework of this visit, on July 24 of this year, the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan D. Vakhabov held a meeting with the Vice-Chancellor of the Royal Agricultural University (RAU), Professor Peter McCaffrey.

In order to further expand cooperation in the agricultural sphere between the two countries, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and the Royal Agricultural University (RAU).

According to the press service of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, an agreement has been reached in the following areas:

  • attracting leading university professors to organize seminars and trainings for exporting entrepreneurs for marketing research and analysis of Europe's export potential in order to further enter European markets;
  • study of the process of food production, from harvesting to export on the basis of the established innovation center at the Royal Agricultural University (RAU);
  • involvement of leading University professors to organize training courses for the implementation of projects in the field of water conservation;
  • conducting a study to develop a scheme for saving water resources and increasing the productivity of irrigated land in the fight against drought on the example of the Egyptian experience;
  • assistance in obtaining Certificates according to the international British standards of certification, marking, calibration;
  • providing information on the nomenclature of export-import goods on the British market;
  • training of qualified personnel in the field of foreign trade;
  • to promote the development of trade and economic relations and the expansion of information exchange for the promotion of Uzbek products to the UK.
