The event was also attended by the heads and specialists of the energy companies of Uzbekistan.
It was noted that the initiatives of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, presented in September at the 80th session of the UN General Assembly and at the seventh Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia in Tashkent, are aimed at supporting the welfare of the people of Afghanistan and the development of its economy. These efforts contribute to further strengthening cooperation between the two countries.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the implementation of major energy projects, in particular the current state of construction of high-voltage power transmission lines and substations in Afghanistan, as well as measures to accelerate work.
As a result of the negotiations, an agreement was signed for the supply of electricity to Afghanistan for 2026.
