The parties discussed priority areas of cooperation in the field of healthcare, including joint research projects aimed at improving the quality of medical services, exchange of experience in providing medical care, cooperation within the framework of the coalition of countries on primary health care, as well as conducting comprehensive studies of environmental factors affecting the health of the population of the Aral Sea region.
Special attention was paid at the meeting to the issues of child health protection. Kazakhstan has proposed the creation of an International Academic Hub for Childhood Cancer, expressing its willingness to actively participate in its implementation.
"High-tech innovative methods of cancer diagnosis and treatment are widely being introduced in Kazakhstan: immunohistochemistry, immunophenotyping, determination of specific cancer markers, high-dose chemotherapy for bone and soft tissue sarcomas, organ-preserving surgical methods for bone sarcomas. In October of this year, a Proton center with a capacity of more than 800 people per year is being launched at the National Cancer Center in Astana, and it is planned to conduct radioiodine therapy for children for the population of the Central Asian region," the Minister noted.
In addition, A. Alnazarova proposed to create an International Hub for Adult Oncology and Hematology at the National Scientific Cancer Center, as well as an International Hub for Pediatric Cardiac Surgery at the UMC Heart Center, including with the possibility of providing assistance to children from Karakalpakstan.
The head of the department added that certain areas of medicine in Kazakhstan are already successfully competing internationally. Technologies that meet advanced international standards are being actively introduced in the country's hospitals, which makes it possible to provide the population with high-tech medical care.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to hold the Days of Kazakh Medicine in Uzbekistan in 2025 and the Days of Uzbek Medicine in Kazakhstan in 2026. The parties also agreed to establish an international hub in the field of healthcare.
