The meeting highlighted the activities of UNAIDS aimed at preventing new HIV infections worldwide, expanding treatment, care and support services for people living with HIV, and reducing the social impact of the epidemic.
The work carried out within the framework of the activities of UNAIDS in Uzbekistan to strengthen the capacity of the national health system, improve monitoring and evaluation of AIDS control programs, as well as attract technical and financial resources was also noted.
Eamonn Murphy praised Uzbekistan's achievements in ensuring human rights, developing inclusive legislation, harmonizing national legislation with international obligations, as well as social protection, public health and gender equality.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to support the ongoing reforms in the social sphere in Uzbekistan and to develop cooperation.
