A diplomatic conference organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) was held in the capital of Saudi Arabia. About 193 countries, including Uzbekistan, took part in it.

Within the framework of the event, a draft Agreement on the right to industrial designs was reviewed and signed between the participants, the news agency "Dunyo" reports.

On behalf of Uzbekistan, the international agreement was signed by the Ambassador of our country to Saudi Arabia, Nodirjon Turgunov.

This international agreement is a logical continuation of The Hague Agreement, including procedural provisions not regulated by the Geneva Act.

Recall that on June 5, 2024, the law "On the accession of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Geneva Act of The Hague Agreement on the International Registration of Industrial Designs (Geneva, July 2, 1999)" was adopted.

It should be noted that joining the Agreement on the Right to Industrial Designs facilitates the registration of national industrial designs in foreign countries. It will also be possible to bring regulatory documents on the registration of industrial designs in accordance with international standards.
