Uzbekistan ranked 1st in Central Asia in the Global Innovation Index

    In the Global Innovation Index 2025, published by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Uzbekistan improved its performance by 4 positions and rose to 79th place among 139 countries.

    This result once again confirms the significant growth of the country's research and innovation potential and its development trends.

    For reference: The Global Innovation Index is published annually in September and is prepared on the basis of almost 80 indicators combined across 2 main sub-indexes and 7 areas. These indicators are the main criteria for determining the innovation potential of countries, the development of knowledge and technology, the business environment and the quality of management.

    At the same time, Uzbekistan's performance has improved in a number of indicators. Thus, according to the indicator "Human capital and scientific research", the country rose by 12 positions, according to the indicator "Knowledge and technology products" - by 10 positions, according to the indicator "Market development" - by 4 positions.

    Our republic also rose to 7th place among 37 countries in the group of "Lower-middle income countries" (10th place in 2024) and took 1st place in Central Asia and 3rd place in the South Asian region after India and Iran (4th place in 2024 year).
