As of May 1, 2023, more than 15.1 thousand foreign citizens work in Kazakhstan in accordance with the permits of local executive bodies.
China is in the first place. The country accounted for 3.6 thousand people, which is a quarter of all working foreigners in Kazakhstan. Next come India - 1.8 thousand and Turkey - 1.5 thousand people.
The largest number of foreign citizens in Kazakhstan are employed in the following sectors of economic activity: construction - 5,317 people (35%), agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 1,572 people (10%), mining and quarrying - 1,443 people (10%), professional, scientific and technical activities - 979 people (7%), manufacturing - 960 people (7%).
