This year's festival, organized jointly by the Committee on Tourism, the khokimiyats of the Bukhara region and the city, the regional tourism department, the Hunarmand Association and a number of other organizations, was held at an even higher level and in a special atmosphere compared to previous years. More than 50 artisans from almost 10 foreign countries and over 350 local craftsmen from the regions of the republic took part in the festival.
The Silk and Spices Festival serves the development of traditional national crafts, their wide promotion at the international level, the expansion of ties between artisans, the further development of handicrafts and tourism, as well as the transformation of the Bukhara region into one of the world's tourist centers.
The festival has been held in Bukhara for more than twenty years. During this period, the festival has gained considerable popularity among foreign and local guests. In particular, more than 50,000 foreign and local tourists who attended the XXI Silk and Spices Festival appreciated it as a unique opportunity to experience firsthand the rich cultural heritage and sincere hospitality of Bukhara.
On the eve of the celebrations, a press conference was held for foreign and local media representatives who arrived in Bukhara. During the conference, the organizers of the festival provided information about the festive program and answered questions of interest to media representatives.
The first day of the festival began with a solemn procession of participants and guests from the Ark fortress to the Labi Havuz complex, after which the opening ceremony of the festival took place in the Labi Havuz complex.
The performances of national ensembles within the framework of the XXI Silk and Spices Festival, as well as the international exhibition of silk products and spices from all regions of our country left no one indifferent. In addition, the works of artisans were presented at the event in Bukhara. In addition, various workshops, national games and entertainment events, and an exhibition of fine and applied art galleries were held.
A gala concert with the participation of young and talented artists from folklore groups of all regions, as well as a special fashion show "Silk&Spices Fashion days" with the participation of local and foreign designers helped to make the event even more uplifting.
In addition, skilled chefs from various regions of Bukhara took part in the Palov Saili national dishes competition within the framework of the festival, where they demonstrated pilaf cooking methods and presented a variety of dishes that emphasize the gastronomic potential of the region. Each participant prepared delicious dishes typical of their region and presented them to the guests and the jury members.
At the end of the XXI traditional International Silk and Spices Festival, all participants and media representatives who covered the event were awarded diplomas and valuable gifts from the organizers.
