The new Ambassador of Uzbekistan has assumed his duties in Jakarta

    Newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan Oybek Eshonov has arrived in the capital of Indonesia.

    He is 57 years old. He graduated from the Oriental Faculty of Tashkent State University (now the National University of Uzbekistan), as well as the Academy of State Construction under the head of our state. In 2008-2017, he worked as an ambassador to Israel, according to the Dune news agency.

    Prior to his appointment, he held the position of Head of the Department for Cooperation with the Countries of South Asia, the Middle East and Africa of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

    He speaks Persian and English.

    Oybek Eshonov replaced Ulugbek Rozikulov, who headed the Jakarta Embassy in 2018-2022 and was appointed Chairman of the Board of Uzavtosanoat JSC.
