Compared to March last year, inflation increased slightly, amounting to 0.7%. In the first three months of 2025, prices increased by 2.1%, compared with 1.7% in the same period last year.
Annual inflation as of the end of last month was 10.3%.
The largest increase in prices over the year is observed in Tashkent (12%), and the lowest in the Syrdarya region (8.6%). The monthly price increase was highest in Surkhandarya region (1.2%).
Food continued to rise in price faster than other product categories. In March, food inflation was 1.5%. At the same time, the annual increase in food prices was 3.2%.
Prices for mutton increased by 9%, and for beef - by 8.3-8.8%. Poultry meat increased in price by 0.6%, while live fish increased in price by 1.7%. Milk prices rose by 0.9%, and butter prices rose by 1.1%. The cost of rice decreased by 2.3%, and wheat flour - by 1.4%.
Carrots rose in price by more than 15%, tomatoes - by 4.3%, bell peppers - by 3.8%, cabbage - by 2.6%, and onions became more expensive by almost 2%. However, prices for cucumbers decreased by 14.7%, and potatoes fell by 3.7%, which led to a slight increase in the overall price increase for vegetables - by only 0.3%. Fruits and nuts rose in price by an average of 0.1%.
Prices for manufactured goods remained almost unchanged, increasing by 0.2%. Among this segment, the most noticeable increase in the price of jewelry was 2.3%. The annual increase was 7.4%, which is slightly lower than in January and February.
Paid services increased in price by 0.7%, which is lower than at the beginning of the year. However, compared to March last year, service inflation was 27%, which is due to the high base effect caused by the increase in energy tariffs.
At the same time, utility tariffs increased by an average of 4%. The cost of mobile operator services increased by 3.5%, while complex telecom services became more expensive by 1.1%. Passenger flights rose in price by 4.4%, and train tickets - by 0.4%.
