This important event was held as part of an official visit at the highest level and became another vivid symbol of friendly relations, mutual trust and strategic partnership between the two countries.
The opening ceremony was attended by Umid Shadiyev, Chairman of the Tourism Committee, Ms. Chi Lu, Executive Director of the Beijing Association for Foreign and Cultural Trade of the Federation of Industry and Trade of China, representatives of major Chinese travel companies and other official guests.
During the event, the speakers stressed that the Tourist Office opened in Beijing will play an important role in further strengthening tourism ties between Uzbekistan and China, as well as assist major Chinese tourism companies in entering the Uzbek market and establishing cooperation.
At the same time, the Tourism Office will actively participate in the implementation of new projects, providing foreign investors with comprehensive information about opportunities in the field of tourism.
It should be noted that thanks to the initiatives of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Secretary General of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping, bilateral relations have reached a new level in recent years. In particular, cooperation in the field of tourism is developing rapidly. This is clearly evidenced by the 30-day visa-free regime, which entered into force on June 1, 2025, as well as more than 50 flights per week established between the two countries. It is planned to increase this figure to 100 flights in the coming years.
In addition, the announcement of 2025 as the "Year of Tourism of Uzbekistan in China" also serves to strengthen tourism cooperation between the two countries. During this year, Uzbek delegations held roadshows in 9 major cities of China, actively participate in tourism exhibitions, and a number of presentation events are planned in several other provinces by the end of the year.
The Uzbek side has set a goal to increase the number of Chinese tourists visiting the country to 3 million by 2030. The new tourist office in Beijing is one of the important steps towards achieving this ambitious goal.
At the end of the ceremony, representatives of Uzbekistan invited all participants to visit our country and stressed that Uzbekistan will remain one of the open and convenient destinations for Chinese tourists.
