The new cultural space will be located in a historic building built in 1911. The building will be carefully restored, preserving the architectural heritage and the spirit of the era, by analogy with the restoration of the Tashkent Library.
"It will be a creative space for children, teenagers, their parents and teachers. Special attention will be paid to inclusivity - an audio fund for visually impaired and blind children will be created in the library," said Saida Mirziyoyeva.
The new library's collection will include 120,000 volumes in Uzbek, Russian and English.
"It will be an incredible, spiritually filled place of attraction for the residents of Samarkand. I wish good luck to this wonderful project!" she stressed.
