The II International Forum "Best Practices of World Criminology" has started in Samarkand

    The two-day II International Forum "Best Practices in World Criminology", organized by the Criminology Research Institute under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, has begun its work in Samarkand.

    It is attended by the heads of police and criminological structures of several countries, the world's leading criminologists, as well as representatives of international organizations.

    The forum was opened by the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Colonel Ramazon Ashrapov.

    The event is held in accordance with the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated January 15, 2024 No. PP-22 "On measures to organize scientific and practical research in the field of criminology."

    Among the participants are the heads of police departments and research centers in Hungary, Qatar, India, China, Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, as well as international organizations:

    · UNODC - United Nations Regional Office on Drugs and Crime in Central Asia;

    · TIKA - Turkish Agency for Cooperation and Coordination;

    · GIZ is the German Society for International Cooperation.

    The forum discusses key issues of law enforcement cooperation, including ensuring safe tourism, working with the Mahalla Seven and combating cybercrime.

    Special attention is paid to the preparation of documents and agreements aimed at deepening international cooperation:

    · signing protocols of cooperation with police and research organizations from Hungary, India, Russia, Qatar, Turkey, China, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan;

    · joint research and analysis of crime;

    · regional threat assessment and international crime prevention coordination;

    · expert training and implementation of scientific research programs;

    · attracting grants and technical assistance through TIKA;

    · modernization of infrastructure and introduction of criminological laboratories and analytical technologies.

    Within the framework of the forum, memorandums of cooperation are planned with the Federal Research Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, Ural State Law University, the Faculty of Law Enforcement of the Ludovika University of Public Service (Hungary) and the National Police Academies of Turkey. Staff internships with Qatar and the launch of joint research projects are also being discussed.

    The forum will result in the launch of international projects involving police and research organizations from India, Hungary, China, Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan to prevent and study crime.

    The event opens a new stage of international cooperation in the field of criminology, combining scientific research, expert experience and practical work.
