In the Samarkand region, the Waste Management and Circular Economy Development Department commissioned the first complex in the republic consisting of two special semi-underground containers for storing household waste.
The complex is located in the mahalla "Obod Maskan" of the Karasuv massif in Samarkand. The new system is designed to prevent the scattering of waste, the spread of unpleasant odors in the hot season and create comfortable conditions for citizens.
For reference: the underground complex is located at a depth of 2 meters. There are 2 containers installed in each of the two blocks, for a total of 4 containers. The capacity of each container is 3 cubic meters (550 liters). They will be able to serve from 1,000 to 1,500 people. In the future, it is planned to build 5 more similar complexes.
Local residents positively assessed the new measures, noting that previously the wind or animals scattered debris on the surface, and now this problem has been successfully solved.
Similar projects are planned to be consistently implemented throughout the republic.
