The sides exchanged views on the current state of bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and the World Bank, further strengthening of mutually beneficial cooperation, promising projects being implemented and planned for the future in our country together with the World Bank in priority areas.

It was particularly noted that Uzbekistan's constructive cooperation with the World Bank has acquired a new character as a result of the cardinal changes taking place in our country in recent years.

During the meeting, V. Vemuru highly appreciated the reforms carried out by the head of state and the government within the framework of ensuring equality of women in Uzbekistan and stressed that the reforms carried out in our country to ensure gender equality, the expansion of equal rights and opportunities for women and men have a positive impact on the image of the country in the international arena, as well as the improvement of Uzbekistan's position in international rankings and indices.

It was noted that the ongoing reforms are being widely implemented in the country, which contributes to improving the well-being of women, improving their lifestyle and, of course, serve as a basis for them to acquire their place in society.

World Bank expert Audrey Sachs also highly appreciated the work carried out in the country to eliminate forced labor.

The meeting discussed projects on the development of parliamentarism, youth and women's entrepreneurship, especially among women living in rural areas, as well as strengthening human capital. In particular, the World Bank has allocated 2.7 million US dollars for the implementation of a project to develop women's entrepreneurship in rural areas.

At the end of the dialogue, it was stressed that cooperation with the World Bank Group will continue as part of the implementation of reforms to ensure gender equality and improve conditions for women and youth, the information service of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan reports.
