The delegation of Uzbekistan headed by Professor Gulnoza Hallieva of the State University of World Languages visited Sweden.

During the trip, it was found that there are 858 (more than 500, if duplicates are excluded) historical manuscripts related to the Turkic peoples in the libraries of Uppsala and Lund Universities in Sweden, the Dune news agency reports.

Among them, in addition to famous poets such as Alisher Navoi, Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur, Fuzuli Sufi Oloyar, Mashrab, there are manuscripts of poets and translators who are still unknown to Uzbek researchers and our people. There are 25 manuscripts of Alisher Navoi alone.

According to available information, these manuscripts were collected during the activities of Swedish missionaries in the XIX and XX centuries, bought and later donated to the libraries of the universities of Lund and Uppsala.

During the meeting with Gulnoza Hallieva at the Embassy, the issue of bringing more than 800 unique masterpieces stored in Swedish libraries with a group of scientists was considered, first of all, creating a complete register, creating a description, restoring them to a usable state and, if possible, returning them to our country.
