The next meeting of the working group on the development of proposals on the conditions and procedure for the recognition of vaccination certificates using videoconferencing took place on April 19 at the CIS headquarters in Minsk.
It was attended by representatives of Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, the Eurasian Economic Commission, the Digital Initiatives Fund of the Eurasian Development Bank and the CIS Executive Committee.
The participants of the meeting heard information about the mobile application "Traveling without COVID-19" of the Digital Initiatives Fund of the Eurasian Development Bank. The main objective of the application is to ensure the free and safe movement of citizens of the participating countries of the project in the conditions of a pandemic of a new coronavirus infection.
The members of the Working Group shared their experience in using the mobile application "Traveling without COVID-19" in their countries. Currently, nine countries - Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan - have joined the application in terms of receiving PCR tests. In terms of getting information about vaccination, five countries have joined the application: Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Uzbekistan. Commissioning works on integration are being completed with Kazakhstan.
It was noted that the use of the mobile application "Traveling without COVID-19" can serve as a tool for the practical implementation of the procedure for the recognition of vaccination certificates.
During the meeting, the participants exchanged views and experience on the issue of recognition of vaccination certificates. In particular, it was noted that currently the Armenian, Belarusian, Moldovan, Tajik and Uzbek sides recognize certificates unilaterally. The Russian side indicated that it continues this work in a bilateral format based on the exchange of verbal notes.
The next meeting of the working group is scheduled to be held in the summer of 2022.
