    An expert discussion on Uzbekistan's foreign policy priorities was held in the United States

    In Washington, DC, the Center for the National Interest (CSPI) hosted a round table on Uzbekistan's foreign policy priorities and emerging partnerships in Central Asia and beyond.

    The round table brought together representatives of a wide range of organizations, from American analytical and research centers to the media, the academic community and official structures.

    Among the participants were experts and representatives of such institutions as the RAND Corporation, the Stimson Center, the American Foreign Policy Council, the Hudson Institute, the Atlantic Council, as well as publications POLITICO, Bloomberg, The Hill, employees of the US Congress, the State Department, the US Department of Defense and embassies.

    The event was attended by the Director of the International Institute of Central Asia (MICA) Javlon Vakhabov, who delivered a detailed presentation of Uzbekistan's foreign policy, focusing on the principles of good neighborliness, regional interconnectedness, as well as expanding practical cooperation with key international partners.

    The meeting was moderated by Andrew K. Kuchins, a senior researcher at the Center for National Interest.

    During the round table, participants showed an active interest in issues of regional security, transport connectivity, energy, water resources, interaction with Afghanistan, as well as the Central Asia-USA format and initiatives put forward by Tashkent in the international arena.

    During the discussion, it was emphasized that Uzbekistan is considered today as an important and responsible participant in regional and global processes. In particular, special attention was paid to Uzbekistan's initiatives in the field of sustainable development, energy transformation and educational projects, including plans to hold a number of international forums in Tashkent and Samarkand in 2025.

    In conclusion, the parties expressed mutual interest in continuing an open dialogue and developing expert relations between the research institutes.
