The International School of Young Historians of the CIS countries "Historical texts: the culture of their creation and interpretation" was held in Tashkent.

About 80 young historians and teachers representing leading scientific and educational centers of historical profile from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan took part in its work.

The theme of the summer school included consideration of a wide range of issues related to the culture of creation and interpretation of historical texts. The tradition and culture of transmitting historical information on the territory of the CIS countries has deep roots. The regional and ethno-cultural features of this vast space have determined the striking differences in the tradition of creating texts, which is reflected not only in their great diversity of species and genre, but also in the forms of broadcasting the information contained in them.

The school allowed historians from different countries of the Commonwealth to acquaint each other with the peculiarities of national historical sources, discuss the forms and methods of their creation and dissemination.

The issue of culture and ways of interpreting historical texts in different ethno-confessional, social and political conditions is no less relevant. In this regard, a discussion was held within the framework of the school aimed at identifying common and special cultural interpretations of historical texts in the Commonwealth space in the broadest chronological context.

The meeting was organized by the Institute of General History of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Mirzo Ulugbek National University of Uzbekistan and the Moscow State Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia. The organizers received financial and organizational support from the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation and the International Association of Historians and Archivists of the CIS member States.
