The organizers of the event are the State Public Scientific and Technical Library of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (GPNTB SB RAS), the National Library of Uzbekistan named after Alisher Navoi, Expert Club "Siberia-Eurasia", the press service of the CIS Executive Committee reports.
The relevance of the round table is caused by the strengthening of international contacts in the scientific and cultural sphere, the intensification of interaction between universities and academic research institutes of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation. The variety of forms of such contacts requires new means of communication. A significant role in this is played by the Russian language, which remains an important tool of communication in the post-Soviet space.
During the round table, such issues as joint projects on the preservation of the Russian cultural heritage in the Republic of Uzbekistan, the study of collections of Russian-language literature in libraries and archives of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the introduction of innovative educational programs, assistance to enlightenment, cross-border exchange of educational and scientific literature will be considered.
