The basic principles of providing psychological assistance to the population are legality, voluntariness, social security, respect for human rights and freedoms, professionalism and confidentiality of information.
Standards of psychological care are developed and approved by the Ministry of Health and contain:
· permitted methods and means of providing psychological assistance;
· requirements for the types, forms and duration of psychological assistance;
· qualification requirements for psychologists;
· requirements for the place of psychological assistance;
· requirements for providing information to a person who has applied for psychological assistance.
Free psychological assistance is guaranteed by the State to the following categories of persons:
· citizens of Uzbekistan within the guaranteed scope of free medical care;
· persons affected by the state of emergency and emergency situations, their family members;
· low-income families included in the unified register of social protection;
· single elderly, elderly living alone and persons with disabilities in need of outside care;
· children in need of social protection, etc.
The Law defines the rights and obligations of psychologists and persons who have applied for psychological assistance.
Information about the fact of a person's request for psychological assistance, the results of psychological assistance and other information obtained during the provision of psychological assistance constitute a professional secret of a psychologist and are equated to medical secrecy.
