New rules for duty-free import of goods for personal use will come into force in Uzbekistan on July 20

    Starting from July 20, 2025, Uzbekistan begins to operate a procedure according to which citizens need to stay abroad for a certain amount of time in order to exercise the right to duty-free import of goods for personal use. This is reported by the State Customs Committee.

    According to the government decree, starting from May 1, 2025, the following duty-free import limits have been set for individuals:

    · by air transport - up to 1,000 US dollars;

    · by rail and river transport - up to 500 USD;

    · by car and pedestrian transport - up to 300 USD.

    According to the new rules, if a citizen was abroad:

    · less than two calendar days (upon entry by rail, river or motor transport),

    · less than three calendar days (upon entry by flight),

    The right to duty-free import is not granted, and customs duties will be charged on the goods.

    The new requirements will take effect on July 20, 2025.
