measures are carried out under the supervision of doctors.

to data for the first quarter of 2026, 174 cases of meningococcal infection
have been registered in the country, 168 of which are in children under 14
years of age. At the same time, a 14% decrease in the incidence was noted in
April compared to March.
Meningitis
is an inflammation of the membranes of the brain and spinal cord, most often
caused by bacteria or viruses. The disease is dangerous with rapid development
and possible severe consequences.
As the main
preventive measures, experts recommend:
timely
vaccination;
compliance
with personal hygiene rules;
consult a
doctor at the first symptoms;
taking
precautions in public places.
Special
attention is paid to citizens planning trips to Hajj and Umrah: they are
recommended to be vaccinated against meningococcal infection, and after
returning, they are temporarily restricted from participating in mass events.
Experts
emphasize that vaccination remains the most effective way to protect against
meningococcal infection.
The
Sanitary and Epidemiological Committee informs that all necessary measures are
being taken in the country to maintain a stable epidemiological situation.
