For the first time in Uzbekistan, specialists in the field of transplantology and cardiac surgery will be trained

    Starting from the 2022/2023 academic year, specialists in transplantation and cardiac surgery will be trained for the first time in our country.

    According to the press service of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, clinical residency in these areas will open from the beginning of the 2022-2023 academic year at the Republican Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Specialized Surgery named after Academician V. Vakhidov and the Republican Scientific Center of Emergency Medicine.

    Given the complexity of these areas, only those who have completed a master's degree in Surgery or a clinical residency can enter them specialty "General Surgery".

    Candidates will be accepted on the basis of a general selection, and the training process focused on practice in these areas will last three years.

    In the first two years, residents studying on a targeted and paid-contract basis will be engaged in clinics of medical institutes and specialized centers.

    In the second semester of the final (third) year, a practical training semester is organized for them in the regions - branches of specialized medical centers of the regions, regional children's and adult multidisciplinary medical centers and branches of the Republican Emergency Medical Center.
