The World Bank will support the digitalization of the agricultural sector of Uzbekistan

    A meeting was held at the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan between B. Maksudov, head of the Department for the Introduction of Aerospace Technologies, and Mohammed Nada, senior expert on urban planning at the World Bank.

    The main topic of discussion was the expansion of bilateral cooperation and integration in the field of digitalization of the agricultural sector.

    Within the framework of the World Bank's Geospatial Infrastructure for Sustainable Development of Territories (GISTD) project, an agreement has been reached to work together on digital initiatives in agriculture.

    According to the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, special attention is paid to geoinformation systems (GIS) and the creation of sectoral geoportals, which play a key role in improving the efficiency of agricultural production.

    Representatives of the World Bank expressed their willingness to support the standardization of data and their integration into the national spatial data infrastructure of Uzbekistan.

    Following the meeting, the parties agreed on further steps to deepen cooperation aimed at the successful digital transformation of the agricultural sector.
