On September 10, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the construction and improvement projects on New Uzbekistan Street in Tashkent.

The avenue, 11 kilometers long and 86 meters wide, has become one of the most significant infrastructure initiatives of recent years. The street’s growing importance is due to the city’s expansion and the region’s increasing tourism potential.

In accordance with the resolution of the Head of state of June 30, 2022, it is planned to create a business center and developed roadside infrastructure on the street. A special directorate was organized to implement these tasks, and an architectural concept was developed.

According to the project, modern residential buildings in the national style, as well as hotels, shopping, entertainment, and service complexes, will be erected on both sides of the street. Parks, pedestrian, and bicycle paths will be organized, creating favorable conditions for the capital’s residents and guests.

In addition, the Tashkent-East Airport and the Olympic Village, currently under construction, will be located along the street. The President instructed to pay special attention to landscaping the area around these facilities and adjacent roads.

During the current visit, proposals for the landscape design of the street were considered. In accordance with the project, ornamental trees and shrubs such as plane trees, oaks, tulip trees, catalpas, Prunus cerasifera 'Pissardii', cypresses, Indian lilacs, lavender, and Syrian roses will be planted along the street. Two fountains are planned to be built in front of the airport. In general, this area will become part of the “green belt” of Tashkent.

The President made recommendations on landscape composition and emphasized that ecology and cultural elements should be harmoniously combined here, creating a unique space for city residents and tourists.
