The renovated road is open to traffic

Tashkent Ring Road is the longest and widest street in the capital. Only the part passing through the Mirzo Ulugbek district was narrow and could not withstand the current traffic – 45-50 thousand cars daily. Therefore, this road was expanded and reconstructed.

The Head of state visited here and got acquainted with the amenities created for transport and pedestrians.

The road will connect the capital and several districts of Tashkent region. In recent years, the load on it has increased significantly. Taking this into account, modern transport solutions have been used here. 4 kilometers of the road are covered with asphalt concrete. The roadway has been significantly expanded and brought to 6-8 lanes. Also, 4 underground crossings, pedestrian and bicycle paths have been built.

Based on advanced solutions, 3 U-turns and 18 merging points were organized. This will create convenience for drivers and be an essential factor in reducing traffic jams.

An overpass made of prefabricated iron structures was built at the intersection of the street with Buyuk Ipak Yuli Street. This method, which was used for the first time in Uzbekistan, has many advantages. In particular, its construction period is two times shorter than that of other bridges. Its service life is more than a hundred years. Repair of the overpass is also much cheaper.

A night lighting system with electronic control and intelligent traffic lights are installed along the streets. Thirteen stops were built. The roadside strip is landscaped, and ornamental trees are planted.

The President emphasized that the new roads and structures are a worthy gift for Independence Day and noted that creative work aimed at improving the comfort of life of the people will be continued.

It should be noted that over the past year, 12.6 thousand kilometers of roads and about two hundred bridges have been reconstructed across the country.
