On October 18, in Tashkent, within the framework of the event "Week of International Partnership Initiatives", a panel session "Prospects for the transition to green energy: achieved results and plans for the future" was held.

Representatives of a number of international organizations and countries in the energy sector took part in this event.

Over the past six years, Uzbekistan has signed 50 agreements with foreign investors for the construction of thermal, solar and wind power plants with a total cost of $ 29 billion 234 million. This means that 50 modern power plants will be built in Uzbekistan with the support of foreign investors, which is also a historic achievement.

As a result of the work carried out, 9 solar and 1 wind power plants with a total capacity of 2.7 GW are currently operating in 7 regions, producing "green" energy.

Thus, over the past 6 years, the volume of new capacities created in the field of electric energy production has exceeded 8,492 MW.

Also, one of the ambitious goals of Uzbekistan is to create more than 20 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030 and increase its share in the energy balance to 40%.
