Initially, bilateral meetings on this issue were organized. It should be noted that the construction of this facility will be organized in Khojikent of Bostanlyk district of Tashkent region. The installed capacity of the facility is 200 MW, and its average annual electricity output is 400 million kWh.
The bilateral meeting was attended by the management of “Uzbekhydroenergo” JSC and Vice President of K-Water Corporation Lee Jong Jin, CEO of Cheon Geun Ho, Senior Manager of Kim Jeong Myeong, Deputy General Director for Global Business Network Kim Jeong Myeong.
At the conclusion of the negotiations, a joint decision was made on the need to develop an initial technical and economic justification for the construction of the Khodjikent PSPP.
At the conclusion of negotiations between “Uzbekhydroenergo” JSC and K-Water Corporation, a memorandum of understanding was signed on the construction project of the Khodjikent PSPP.
Recall that at the invitation of the President of the Republic of Korea Moon Jae-in, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev paid a state visit to South Korea on December 16-18, 2021, where he paid special attention to the promotion of programs and projects of practical cooperation related to the "green" economy, digitalization, innovation and high technologies, education, healthcare and other priority areas.
This memorandum and cooperation is the implementation of the development strategy for 2022-2026 of the New Uzbekistan, where the further development of "green" energy in the country is considered a priority.
