During the meeting, it was noted with satisfaction that over the past five years, the volume of trade between Uzbekistan and Turkey has increased 1.4 times, and the number of enterprises with Turkish capital in our country has reached almost 2,000.
Nevertheless, the level of regional cooperation and the potential of the economies of the two countries indicate huge untapped opportunities for further development of trade, economic and investment cooperation.
Taking this into account, the parties agreed to take joint measures, first of all, to expand the list of products within the framework of the preferential trade agreement signed between the two countries. An agreement was also reached to sign an agreement in the field of conformity assessment in order to increase the volume of mutual trade to $ 5 billion in the coming years.
Assessing the reforms in our country, the ambassador stated that Turkey's position remains unchanged - unique conditions and opportunities for investors have been created in Uzbekistan in a short period of time. In this context, they expressed their full readiness to mobilize all available efforts to strengthen cooperation in the investment sector and attract potential Turkish investors to our country.
Following the meeting, specific directions were identified for further enhancing the relations of comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries, a mechanism for direct interaction was developed for joint work and careful preparation of visits to Uzbekistan at the highest and highest levels planned this year, and prompt resolution of emerging issues.
